Interesting Facts ...
about the woods

1) Most people prefer veneer doors because the doors have a nice finishing.

2) One of the expensive doors in Sim Seng Hin Sawmill Co Pte Ltd is the one that is fully comprised of timber wood. It is made of white timber wood which costs about S$8000.

3) The colder countries such as America have fairer timber (whiter wood) while woods from the Asian countries tend to be yellowish in colour.

4) Timber varies from colours. The fairer the timber, the more expensive it is.

5) Wood is a biodegradable material and therefore it contributes to greenhouse gas production if it allowed to rot in landfill sites.

6) Some soft woods may be harder than some hard woods.

7) There are more than 50,000 different types of species of wood in the world.

8) Some doors consist of holes. This is NOT because that the wood is of a poor quality or there will white ants (termites) in it. It is due to the natural occurence.

9) Modern interior doors have solid wood frames made with eco-clean materials that help to reduce the noise in your house.
